When the man got ready to leave 1  with his concubine and his servant, 2  his father-in-law, the girl’s father, said to him, “Look! The day is almost over! 3  Stay another night! Since the day is over, 4  stay another night here and have a good time. You can get up early tomorrow and start your trip home.” 5

Then when the man, with his concubine and his servant, got up to leave, his father-in-law, the girl’s father, said, "Now look, it’s almost evening. Spend the night here; the day is nearly over. Stay and enjoy yourself. Early tomorrow morning you can get up and be on your way home."

NASB ©

When the man arose to go along with his concubine and servant, his father-in-law, the girl’s father, said to him, "Behold now, the day has drawn to a close; please spend the night. Lo, the day is coming to an end; spend the night here that your heart may be merry. Then tomorrow you may arise early for your journey so that you may go home."

NLT ©

That afternoon, as he and his concubine and servant were preparing to leave, his father–in–law said, "Look, it’s getting late. Stay the night and enjoy yourself. Tomorrow you can get up early and be on your way."

But the man and his concubine were finally ready to go. Then his father-in-law, the girl's father, said, "Look, the day's almost gone--why not stay the night? There's very little daylight left; stay another night and enjoy yourself. Tomorrow you can get an early start and set off for your own place."

And when they got up to go away, his father-in-law, the girl’s father, said to him, Now evening is coming on, so do not go tonight; see, the day is almost gone; take your rest here and let your heart be glad, and tomorrow early, go on your way back to your house.

NRSV ©

When the man with his concubine and his servant got up to leave, his father-in-law, the girl’s father, said to him, "Look, the day has worn on until it is almost evening. Spend the night. See, the day has drawn to a close. Spend the night here and enjoy yourself. Tomorrow you can get up early in the morning for your journey, and go home."

NKJV ©

And when the man stood to depart––he and his concubine and his servant––his father–in–law, the young woman’s father, said to him, "Look, the day is now drawing toward evening; please spend the night. See, the day is coming to an end; lodge here, that your heart may be merry. Tomorrow go your way early, so that you may get home."
