Exodus 23:29

I will not drive them out before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the wild animals ¹  multiply against you.

But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you.

"I will not drive them out before you in a single year, that the land may not become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you.

But I will not do this all in one year because the land would become a wilderness, and the wild animals would become too many to control.

I won't get rid of them all at once lest the land grow up in weeds and the wild animals take over.
