Psalms 104:14

He provides grass ¹  for the cattle, and crops for people to cultivate, ²  so they can produce food from the ground, ³ 

He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate— bringing forth food from the earth:

He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the labor of man, So that he may bring forth food from the earth,

You cause grass to grow for the cattle. You cause plants to grow for people to use. You allow them to produce food from the earth––

You make grass grow for the livestock, hay for the animals that plow the ground. Oh yes, God brings grain from the land,

He makes the grass come up for the cattle, and plants for the use of man; so that bread may come out of the earth;

You cause the grass to grow for the cattle, and plants for people to use, to bring forth food from the earth,

He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the service of man, That he may bring forth food from the earth,

He provides grass ¹  for the cattle, and crops for people to cultivate, ²  so they can produce food from the ground, ³ 

¹ tn Heb “causes the grass to sprout up.”

² tn Heb “for the service of man” (see Gen 2:5).

³ tn Heb “to cause food to come out from the earth.”
