Acts 3:23

Every person ¹  who does not obey that prophet will be destroyed and thus removed ²  from the people.’ ³ 

Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from among his people.’

‘And it will be that every soul that does not heed that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’

Then Moses said, ‘Anyone who will not listen to that Prophet will be cut off from God’s people and utterly destroyed.’

Every last living soul who refuses to listen to that prophet will be wiped out from the people.'

And every soul who does not give attention to that prophet, will be cut off from among the people.

And it will be that everyone who does not listen to that prophet will be utterly rooted out of the people.’

‘And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’

² tn Or “will be completely destroyed.” In Acts 3:23 the verb ἐξολεθρεύω (exoleqreuw) is translated “destroy and remove” by L&N 20.35.

³ sn A quotation from Deut 18:19, also Lev 23:29. The OT context of Lev 23:29 discusses what happened when one failed to honor atonement. One ignored the required sacrifice of God at one’s peril.
