Genesis 42:27

When one of them ¹  opened his sack to get feed for his donkey at their resting place, ²  he saw his money in the mouth of his sack. ³ 

At the place where they stopped for the night one of them opened his sack to get feed for his donkey, and he saw his silver in the mouth of his sack.

As one of them opened his sack to give his donkey fodder at the lodging place, he saw his money; and behold, it was in the mouth of his sack.

But when they stopped for the night and one of them opened his sack to get some grain to feed the donkeys, he found his money in the sack.

When they stopped for the night, one of them opened his sack to get food for his donkey; there at the mouth of his bag was his money

Now at their night’s resting-place one of them, opening his bag to give his ass some food, saw his money in the mouth of the bag.

When one of them opened his sack to give his donkey fodder at the lodging place, he saw his money at the top of the sack.

But as one of them opened his sack to give his donkey feed at the encampment, he saw his money; and there it was, in the mouth of his sack.

When one of them ¹  opened his sack to get feed for his donkey at their resting place, ²  he saw his money in the mouth of his sack. ³ 

¹ tn Heb “and the one.” The article indicates that the individual is vivid in the mind of the narrator, yet it is not important to identify him by name.

² tn Heb “at the lodging place.”

³ tn Heb “and look, it [was] in the mouth of his sack.” By the use of the particle הִנֵּה (hinneh, “look”), the narrator invites the reader to look through the eyes of the character and thereby draws attention to the money.
