1 Chronicles 25:9

The first lot went to Asaph’s son Joseph and his relatives and sons – twelve in all, ¹  the second to Gedaliah and his relatives and sons – twelve in all,

The first lot, which was for Asaph, fell to Joseph, his sons and relatives, 12 the second to Gedaliah, he and his relatives and sons, 12

Now the first lot came out for Asaph to Joseph, the second for Gedaliah, he with his relatives and sons were twelve;

The first lot fell to Joseph of the Asaph clan and twelve of his sons and relatives. The second lot fell to Gedaliah and twelve of his sons and relatives.

The first name from Asaph's family was Joseph and his twelve sons and brothers; second, Gedaliah and his twelve sons and brothers;

Now of the group of Asaph, the first name to come out was Joseph; the second Gedaliah; he and his brothers and sons were twelve?

The first lot fell for Asaph to Joseph; the second to Gedaliah, to him and his brothers and his sons, twelve;

Now the first lot for Asaph came out for Joseph; the second for Gedaliah, him with his brethren and sons, twelve;

The first lot went to Asaph’s son Joseph and his relatives and sons – twelve in all, ¹  the second to Gedaliah and his relatives and sons – twelve in all,

¹ tc Heb “The first lot went to Asaph, to Joseph.” Apparently the recurring formula, “and his sons and his relatives, twelve” has been accidentally omitted from the Hebrew text at this point (see vv. 10-31; the formula is slightly different in v. 9b). If the number “twelve” is not supplied here, the total comes to only 276, not the 288 required by v. 7.
