Psalms 65:1

For the music director; a psalm of David, a song. Praise awaits you, ²  O God, in Zion. Vows made to you are fulfilled.

For the director of music. A psalm of David. A song. Praise awaits you, O God, in Zion; to you our vows will be fulfilled.

<<For the choir director. A Psalm of David. A Song.>> There will be silence before You, and praise in Zion, O God, And to You the vow will be performed.

<<For the choir director: A psalm of David. A song.>> What mighty praise, O God, belongs to you in Zion. We will fulfill our vows to you,

Silence is praise to you, Zion-dwelling God, And also obedience.

<To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David. A Song.> It is right for you, O God, to have praise in Zion: to you let the offering be made.

Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion; and to you shall vows be performed,

¹ sn Psalm 65. The psalmist praises God because he forgives sin and blesses his people with an abundant harvest.

² tn Heb “for you, silence, praise.” Many prefer to emend the noun דֻּמִיָּה (dumiyyah, “silence”) to a participle דּוֹמִיָּה (domiyyah), from the root דָּמָה (damah, “be silent”), understood here in the sense of “wait.”
