Matthew 27:6

The ¹  chief priests took the silver and said, “It is not lawful to put this into the temple treasury, since it is blood money.”

The chief priests picked up the coins and said, "It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money."

The chief priests took the pieces of silver and said, "It is not lawful to put them into the temple treasury, since it is the price of blood."

The leading priests picked up the money. "We can’t put it in the Temple treasury," they said, "since it’s against the law to accept money paid for murder."

The high priests picked up the silver pieces, but then didn't know what to do with them. "It wouldn't be right to give this--a payment for murder!--as an offering in the Temple."

And the chief priests took the silver and said, It is not right to put it in the Temple store for it is the price of blood.

But the chief priests, taking the pieces of silver, said, "It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since they are blood money."
