Leviticus 15:12

A clay vessel ¹  which the man with the discharge touches must be broken, and any wooden utensil must be rinsed in water.

"‘A clay pot that the man touches must be broken, and any wooden article is to be rinsed with water.

‘However, an earthenware vessel which the person with the discharge touches shall be broken, and every wooden vessel shall be rinsed in water.

Any clay pot touched by the man with the discharge must be broken, and every wooden utensil he touches must be rinsed with water.

"If a pottery container is touched by someone with a discharge, you must break it; a wooden article is to be rinsed in water.

And any vessel of earth which has been touched by the unclean man will have to be broken and any vessel of wood washed.

Any earthen vessel that the one with the discharge touches shall be broken; and every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water.

¹ tn The Hebrew term כְּלִי (kÿli) can mean “vessel” (v. 12a) or “utensil, implement, article” (v. 12b). An article of clay would refer to a vessel or container of some sort, while one made of wood would refer to some kind of tool or instrument.
