James 1:19

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters! ¹  Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.

My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;

My dear brothers and sisters, be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.

Post this at all the intersections, dear friends: Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear.

You have knowledge of this, dear brothers. But let every man be quick in hearing, slow in words, slow to get angry;

You must understand this, my beloved: let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger;

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters! ¹  Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.
