John 16:18

So they kept on repeating, ¹  “What is the meaning of what he says, ²  ‘In a little while’? ³  We do not understand ⁴  what he is talking about.” ⁵ 

They kept asking, "What does he mean by ‘a little while’? We don’t understand what he is saying."

So they were saying, "What is this that He says, ‘A little while’? We do not know what He is talking about."

And what does he mean by ‘a little while’? We don’t understand."

What is this 'day or so'? We don't know what he's talking about."

So they said again and again, What is this he is saying, A little time? His words are not clear to us.

They said, "What does he mean by this ‘a little while’? We do not know what he is talking about."

They said therefore, "What is this that He says, ‘A little while’? We do not know what He is saying."

So they kept on repeating, ¹  “What is the meaning of what he says, ²  ‘In a little while’? ³  We do not understand ⁴  what he is talking about.” ⁵ 

¹ tn Grk “they kept on saying.”

² tn Grk “What is this that he says.”

³ tn Grk “A little while.” Although the phrase τὸ μικρόν (to mikron) in John 16:18 could be translated simply “a little while,” it was translated “in a little while” to maintain the connection to John 16:16, where it has the latter meaning in context.
