Isaiah 2:3

2:3 many peoples will come and say,

“Come, let us go up to the Lord’s mountain,

to the temple of the God of Jacob,

so he can teach us his requirements,

and we can follow his standards.”

For Zion will be the center for moral instruction;

the Lord will issue edicts from Jerusalem.

Isaiah 5:25

5:25 So the Lord is furious with his people;

he lifts his hand and strikes them.

The mountains shake,

and corpses lie like manure in the middle of the streets.

Despite all this, his anger does not subside,

and his hand is ready to strike again. 10 

Isaiah 9:17

9:17 So the sovereign master was not pleased 11  with their young men,

he took no pity 12  on their orphans and widows;

26:21 For look, the Lord is coming out of the place where he lives, 20 

to punish the sin of those who live on the earth.

Isaiah 44:23

44:23 Shout for joy, O sky, for the Lord intervenes; 28

Isaiah 45:14

The Lord is the Nations’ Only Hope

45:14 This is what the Lord says:

“The profit 33  of Egypt and the revenue 34  of Ethiopia,

along with the Sabeans, those tall men,

will be brought to you 35  and become yours.

They will walk behind you, coming along in chains. 36 

They will bow down to you

and pray to you: 37 

‘Truly God is with 38  you; he has no peer; 39 

there is no other God!’”

Isaiah 49:5-6

49:5 So now the Lord says,

the one who formed me from birth 40  to be his servant –

he did this 41  to restore Jacob to himself,

so that Israel might be gathered to him;

and I will be honored 42  in the Lord’s sight,

for my God is my source of strength 43 

49:6 he says, “Is it too insignificant a task for you to be my servant,

to reestablish the tribes of Jacob,

I will make you a light to the nations, 46

Isaiah 51:13

51:13 Why do you forget 48  the Lord, who made you,

who stretched out the sky 49 

and founded the earth?

at the anger of the oppressor,

when he makes plans to destroy?

Where is the anger of the oppressor? 51 

Isaiah 60:9

60:9 Indeed, the coastlands 52  look eagerly for me,

the large ships 53  are in the lead,

bringing your sons from far away,

along with their silver and gold,

Isaiah 63:7

A Prayer for Divine Intervention

63:7 I will tell of the faithful acts of the Lord,

of the Lord’s praiseworthy deeds.

because of 58  his compassion and great faithfulness.

Isaiah 66:5

66:5 Hear the word of the Lord,

you who respect what he has to say! 59
