Mark 1:10

And just as Jesus ¹  was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens ²  splitting apart and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. ³ 

As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.

Immediately coming up out of the water, He saw the heavens opening, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him;

And when Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens split open and the Holy Spirit descending like a dove on him.

The moment he came out of the water, he saw the sky split open and God's Spirit, looking like a dove, come down on him.

And straight away, coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens broken open and the Spirit coming down on him as a dove:

And just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a dove on him.

And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove.

And just as Jesus ¹  was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens ²  splitting apart and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. ³ 

¹ tn Grk “and immediately coming up out of the water, he saw.” The present participle has been translated temporally, with the subject (Jesus) specified for clarity.

² tn Or “sky.” The Greek word οὐρανός (ouranos) may be translated “sky” or “heaven,” depending on the context. The same word is used in v. 11.

³ sn The phrase like a dove is a descriptive comparison. The Spirit is not a dove, but descended like one in some sort of bodily representation.
