Amos 3:10

“They do not know how to do what is right.” (The Lord is speaking.) “They store up ¹  the spoils of destructive violence ²  in their fortresses.

"They do not know how to do right," declares the LORD, "who hoard plunder and loot in their fortresses."

"But they do not know how to do what is right," declares the LORD, "these who hoard up violence and devastation in their citadels."

"My people have forgotten what it means to do right," says the LORD. "Their fortresses are filled with wealth taken by theft and violence.

They can't--or won't--do one thing right." GOD said so. "They stockpile violence and blight.

For they have no knowledge of how to do what is right, says the Lord, who are storing up violent acts and destruction in their great houses.

They do not know how to do right, says the LORD, those who store up violence and robbery in their strongholds.

For they do not know to do right,’ Says the LORD, ‘Who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.’"

² tn Heb “violence and destruction.” The expression “violence and destruction” stand metonymically for the goods the oppressors have accumulated by their unjust actions.
