Psalms 75:1

For the music director; according to the al-tashcheth style; ²  a psalm of Asaph; a song. We give thanks to you, O God! We give thanks! You reveal your presence; ³  people tell about your amazing deeds.

For the director of music. \i1 To the tune of "Do Not Destroy". A psalm of Asaph. A song.\i0 We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks, for your Name is near; men tell of your wonderful deeds.

<<For the choir director; set to Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song.>> We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks, For Your name is near; Men declare Your wondrous works.

<<For the choir director: A psalm of Asaph, to be sung to the tune "Do Not Destroy!" A song.>> We thank you, O God! We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of your mighty miracles.

We thank you, God, we thank you--your Name is our favorite word; your mighty works are all we talk about.

<To the chief music-maker; put to Al-tashheth. A Psalm. Of Asaph. A Song.> To you, O God, we give praise, to you we give praise: and those who give honour to your name make clear your works of power.

We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks; your name is near. People tell of your wondrous deeds.

¹ sn Psalm 75. The psalmist celebrates God’s just rule, which guarantees that the godly will be vindicated and the wicked destroyed.

² tn Heb “do not destroy.” Perhaps this refers to a particular style of music, a tune title, or a musical instrument. These words also appear in the superscription to Pss 57-59.

³ tn Heb “and near [is] your name.”
