Nehemiah 4:11

Our adversaries also boasted, ¹  “Before they are aware or anticipate ²  anything, we will come in among them and kill them, and we will bring this work to a halt!”

Also our enemies said, "Before they know it or see us, we will be right there among them and will kill them and put an end to the work."

Our enemies said, "They will not know or see until we come among them, kill them and put a stop to the work."

Meanwhile, our enemies were saying, "Before they know what’s happening, we will swoop down on them and kill them and end their work."

And all this time our enemies were saying, "They won't know what hit them. Before they know it we'll be at their throats, killing them right and left. [That] will put a stop to the work!"

And those who were against us said, Without their knowledge and without their seeing us, we will come among them and put them to death, causing the work to come to a stop.

And our enemies said, "They will not know or see anything before we come upon them and kill them and stop the work."

And our adversaries said, "They will neither know nor see anything, till we come into their midst and kill them and cause the work to cease."

Our adversaries also boasted, ¹  “Before they are aware or anticipate ²  anything, we will come in among them and kill them, and we will bring this work to a halt!”
