Matthew 12:48

To the one who had said this, Jesus ¹  replied, ²  “Who is my mother and who are my brothers?”

He replied to him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?"

But Jesus answered the one who was telling Him and said, "Who is My mother and who are My brothers?"

Jesus asked, "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?"

Jesus didn't respond directly, but said, "Who do you think my mother and brothers are?"

But he in answer said to him who gave the news, Who is my mother and who are my brothers?

But to the one who had told him this, Jesus replied, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?"

But He answered and said to the one who told Him, "Who is My mother and who are My brothers?"

To the one who had said this, Jesus ¹  replied, ²  “Who is my mother and who are my brothers?”

¹ tn Grk “he”; the referent (Jesus) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

² tn Grk “And answering, he said to the one who had said this.” This construction is somewhat redundant in English and has been simplified in the translation. Here δέ (de) at the beginning of the clause has not been translated.
