Leviticus 25:45

Also you may buy slaves ¹  from the children of the foreigners who reside with you, and from their families that are ²  with you, whom they have fathered in your land, they may become your property.

You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property.

‘Then, too, it is out of the sons of the sojourners who live as aliens among you that you may gain acquisition, and out of their families who are with you, whom they will have produced in your land; they also may become your possession.

You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property,

You may also buy the children of foreign workers who are living among you temporarily and from their clans which are living among you and have been born in your land. They become your property.

And in addition, you may get, for money, servants from among the children of other nations who are living with you, and from their families which have come to birth in your land; and these will be your property.

You may also acquire them from among the aliens residing with you, and from their families that are with you, who have been born in your land; and they may be your property.

‘Moreover you may buy the children of the strangers who dwell among you, and their families who are with you, which they beget in your land; and they shall become your property.

Also you may buy slaves ¹  from the children of the foreigners who reside with you, and from their families that are ²  with you, whom they have fathered in your land, they may become your property.

¹ tn The word “slaves” is not in the Hebrew text, but is implied here.

² tn Heb “family which is” (i.e., singular rather than plural).
