Genesis 31:4

So Jacob sent a message for Rachel and Leah ¹  to come to the field ²  where his flocks were. ³ 

So Jacob sent word to Rachel and Leah to come out to the fields where his flocks were.

So Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to his flock in the field,

Jacob called Rachel and Leah out to the field where he was watching the flocks,

So Jacob sent word for Rachel and Leah to meet him out in the field where his flocks were.

And Jacob sent for Rachel and Leah to come to him in the field among his flock.

So Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah into the field where his flock was,

So Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field, to his flock,

So Jacob sent a message for Rachel and Leah ¹  to come to the field ²  where his flocks were. ³ 

¹ tn Heb “sent and called for Rachel and for Leah.” Jacob did not go in person, but probably sent a servant with a message for his wives to meet him in the field.

² tn Heb “the field.” The word is an adverbial accusative, indicating that this is where Jacob wanted them to meet him. The words “to come to” are supplied in the translation for clarification and stylistic reasons.

³ tn Heb “to his flock.”
