Exodus 1:9

He said ¹  to his people, “Look at ²  the Israelite people, more numerous and stronger than we are!

"Look," he said to his people, "the Israelites have become much too numerous for us.

He said to his people, "Behold, the people of the sons of Israel are more and mightier than we.

He told his people, "These Israelites are becoming a threat to us because there are so many of them.

He spoke to his people in alarm, "There are way too many of these Israelites for us to handle.

And he said to his people, See, the people of Israel are greater in number and in power than we are:

He said to his people, "Look, the Israelite people are more numerous and more powerful than we.

And he said to his people, "Look, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we;

He said ¹  to his people, “Look at ²  the Israelite people, more numerous and stronger than we are!

¹ tn Heb “and he said.”

² tn The particle הִנֵּה (hinneh) introduces the foundational clause for the exhortation to follow by drawing the listeners’ attention to the Israelites. In other words, the exhortation that follows is based on this observation. The connection could be rendered “since, because,” or the like.
