Acts 10:26

But Peter helped him up, ¹  saying, “Stand up. I too am a mere mortal.” ² 

But Peter made him get up. "Stand up," he said, "I am only a man myself."

But Peter raised him up, saying, "Stand up; I too am just a man."

But Peter pulled him up and said, "Stand up! I’m a human being like you!"

Peter pulled him up and said, "None of that--I'm a man and only a man, no different from you."

But Peter, lifting him up, said, Get up, for I am a man as you are.

But Peter made him get up, saying, "Stand up; I am only a mortal."

But Peter lifted him up, saying, "Stand up; I myself am also a man."

But Peter helped him up, ¹  saying, “Stand up. I too am a mere mortal.” ² 

¹ tn BDAG 271 s.v. ἐγείρω 3 has “raise, help to rise….Stretched out Ac 10:26.”

² tn Although it is certainly true that Peter was a “man,” here ἄνθρωπος (anqrwpo") has been translated as “mere mortal” because the emphasis in context is not on Peter’s maleness, but his humanity. Contrary to what Cornelius thought, Peter was not a god or an angelic being, but a mere mortal.
