Psalms 88:4

They treat me like ¹  those who descend into the grave. ²  I am like a helpless man, ³ 

I am counted among those who go down to the pit; I am like a man without strength.

I am reckoned among those who go down to the pit; I have become like a man without strength,

I have been dismissed as one who is dead, like a strong man with no strength left.

I'm written off as a lost cause, one more statistic, a hopeless case.

I am numbered among those who go down into the earth; I have become like a man for whom there is no help:

I am counted among those who go down to the Pit; I am like those who have no help,

I am counted with those who go down to the pit; I am like a man who has no strength,

They treat me like ¹  those who descend into the grave. ²  I am like a helpless man, ³

² tn Heb “the pit.” The noun בּוֹר (bor, “pit,” “cistern”) is sometimes used of the grave and/or the realm of the dead.
