John 7:12

There was ¹  a lot of grumbling ²  about him among the crowds. ³  Some were saying, “He is a good man,” but others, “He deceives the common people.” ⁴ 

Among the crowds there was widespread whispering about him. Some said, "He is a good man." Others replied, "No, he deceives the people."

There was much grumbling among the crowds concerning Him; some were saying, "He is a good man"; others were saying, "No, on the contrary, He leads the people astray."

There was a lot of discussion about him among the crowds. Some said, "He’s a wonderful man," while others said, "He’s nothing but a fraud, deceiving the people."

There was a lot of contentious talk about him circulating through the crowds. Some were saying, "He's a good man." But others said, "Not so. He's selling snake oil."

And there was much discussion about him among the mass of the people. Some said, He is a good man; but others said, No, he is giving people false ideas.

And there was considerable complaining about him among the crowds. While some were saying, "He is a good man," others were saying, "No, he is deceiving the crowd."

And there was much complaining among the people concerning Him. Some said, "He is good"; others said, "No, on the contrary, He deceives the people."
