John 2:25

He did not need anyone to testify about man, ¹  for he knew what was in man. ² 

He did not need man’s testimony about man, for he knew what was in a man.

and because He did not need anyone to testify concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in man.

No one needed to tell him about human nature.

He didn't need any help in seeing right through them.

He had no need for any witness about man; for he himself had knowledge of what was in man.

and needed no one to testify about anyone; for he himself knew what was in everyone.

and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.

¹ tn The masculine form has been retained here in the translation to maintain the connection with “a man of the Pharisees” in 3:1, with the understanding that the reference is to people of both genders.
