John 1:30

This is the one about whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who is greater than I am, ¹  because he existed before me.’

This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’

"This is He on behalf of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’

He is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘Soon a man is coming who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before I did.’

"Here he is, God's Passover Lamb! He forgives the sins of the world! This is the man I've been talking about, 'the One who comes after me but is really ahead of me.'

This is he of whom I said, One is coming after me who is put over me because he was in existence before me.

This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who ranks ahead of me because he was before me.’

"This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’
