Hebrews 8:13

When he speaks of a new covenant, ¹  he makes the first obsolete. Now what is growing obsolete and aging is about to disappear. ² 

By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and ageing will soon disappear.

When He said, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear.

When God speaks of a new covenant, it means he has made the first one obsolete. It is now out of date and ready to be put aside.

By coming up with a new plan, a new covenant between God and his people, God put the old plan on the shelf. And there it stays, gathering dust.

When he says, A new agreement, he has made the first agreement old. But anything which is getting old and past use will not be seen much longer.

In speaking of "a new covenant," he has made the first one obsolete. And what is obsolete and growing old will soon disappear.

In that He says, "A new covenant ," He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
