Genesis 10:8

Cush was the father of ¹  Nimrod; he began to be a valiant warrior on the earth.

Cush was the father of Nimrod, who grew to be a mighty warrior on the earth.

One of Cush’s descendants was Nimrod, who became a heroic warrior.

Cush also had Nimrod. He was the first great warrior on Earth.

Cush became the father of Nimrod; he was the first on earth to become a mighty warrior.

Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth.

¹ tn Heb “fathered.” Embedded within Cush’s genealogy is an account of Nimrod, a mighty warrior. There have been many attempts to identify him, but none are convincing.
