Psalms 78:56

Yet they challenged and defied ¹  the sovereign God, ²  and did not obey ³  his commands. ⁴ 

But they put God to the test and rebelled against the Most High; they did not keep his statutes.

Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God And did not keep His testimonies,

Yet though he did all this for them, they continued to test his patience. They rebelled against the Most High and refused to follow his decrees.

But they kept on giving him a hard time, rebelled against God, the High God, refused to do anything he told them.

But they were bitter against the Most High God, testing him, and not keeping his laws;

Yet they tested the Most High God, and rebelled against him. They did not observe his decrees,

Yet they tested and provoked the Most High God, And did not keep His testimonies,

Yet they challenged and defied ¹  the sovereign God, ²  and did not obey ³  his commands. ⁴
