Psalms 78:57

They were unfaithful ¹  and acted as treacherously as ²  their ancestors; they were as unreliable as a malfunctioning bow. ³ 

Like their fathers they were disloyal and faithless, as unreliable as a faulty bow.

But turned back and acted treacherously like their fathers; They turned aside like a treacherous bow.

They turned back and were as faithless as their parents had been. They were as useless as a crooked bow.

They were worse, if that's possible, than their parents: traitors--crooked as a corkscrew.

Their hearts were turned back and untrue like their fathers; they were turned to one side like a twisted bow.

but turned away and were faithless like their ancestors; they twisted like a treacherous bow.

But turned back and acted unfaithfully like their fathers; They were turned aside like a deceitful bow.

They were unfaithful ¹  and acted as treacherously as ²  their ancestors; they were as unreliable as a malfunctioning bow. ³ 

¹ tn Heb “they turned back.”

² tn Or “acted treacherously like.”
