Psalms 119:82

My eyes grow tired as I wait for your promise to be fulfilled. ¹  I say, ²  “When will you comfort me?”

My eyes fail, looking for your promise; I say, "When will you comfort me?"

My eyes fail with longing for Your word, While I say, "When will You comfort me?"

My eyes are straining to see your promises come true. When will you comfort me?

My eyes grow heavy watching for some sign of your promise; how long must I wait for your comfort?

My eyes are full of weariness with searching for your word, saying, When will you give me comfort?

My eyes fail with watching for your promise; I ask, "When will you comfort me?"

My eyes fail from searching Your word, Saying, "When will You comfort me?"

My eyes grow tired as I wait for your promise to be fulfilled. ¹  I say, ²  “When will you comfort me?”

¹ tn Heb “my eyes fail for your word.” The psalmist has intently kept his eyes open, looking for God to intervene, but now his eyes are watery and bloodshot, impairing his vision. See Ps 69:3.
