Mark 3:33

He answered them and said, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” ¹ 

"Who are my mother and my brothers?" he asked.

Answering them, He *said, "Who are My mother and My brothers?"

Jesus replied, "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?"

Jesus responded, "Who do you think are my mother and brothers?"

And he said in answer, Who are my mother and my brothers?

And he replied, "Who are my mother and my brothers?"

But He answered them, saying, "Who is My mother, or My brothers?"

He answered them and said, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” ¹ 

¹ tn Grk “Who is my mother and my brothers?” The use of the singular verb ἐστιν (estin) here singles out Mary above Jesus’ brothers, giving her special prominence (see ExSyn 401-2). This is slightly unnatural in English since the predicate nominative is plural, though, so a plural verb was used in the translation.
