Luke 22:34

Jesus replied, ¹  “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow ²  today until you have denied ³  three times that you know me.”

Jesus answered, "I tell you, Peter, before the cock crows today, you will deny three times that you know me."

And He said, "I say to you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me."

But Jesus said, "Peter, let me tell you something. The rooster will not crow tomorrow morning until you have denied three times that you even know me."

Jesus said, "I'm sorry to have to tell you this, Peter, but before the rooster crows you will have three times denied that you know me."

And he said, I say to you, Peter, before the cock’s second cry today, you will say three times that you have no knowledge of me.

Jesus said, "I tell you, Peter, the cock will not crow this day, until you have denied three times that you know me."

Then He said, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me."

Jesus replied, ¹  “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow ²  today until you have denied ³  three times that you know me.”

¹ tn Grk “he said”; the referent (Jesus) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

² sn That is, Peter’s denials will happen before the sun rises.

³ sn Once again, Jesus is quite aware that Peter will deny him. Peter, however, is too nonchalant about the possibility of stumbling.
