Luke 22:10

He said to them, “Listen, ¹  when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water ²  will meet you. ³  Follow him into the house that he enters,

He replied, "As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters,

And He said to them, "When you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house that he enters.

He replied, "As soon as you enter Jerusalem, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him. At the house he enters,

He said, "Keep your eyes open as you enter the city. A man carrying a water jug will meet you. Follow him home.

And he said to them, When you go into the town you will see a man coming to you with a vessel of water; go after him into the house into which he goes.

"Listen," he said to them, "when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you; follow him into the house he enters

And He said to them, "Behold, when you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house which he enters.

He said to them, “Listen, ¹  when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water ²  will meet you. ³  Follow him into the house that he enters,

¹ tn Grk “behold.”

² sn Since women usually carried these jars, it would have been no problem for Peter and John to recognize the man Jesus was referring to.

³ sn Jesus is portrayed throughout Luke 22-23 as very aware of what will happen, almost directing events. Here this is indicated by his prediction that a man carrying a jar of water will meet you.
