Leviticus 22:14

“‘If a man eats a holy offering by mistake, ¹  he must add one fifth to it and give the holy offering to the priest. ² 

"‘If anyone eats a sacred offering by mistake, he must make restitution to the priest for the offering and add a fifth of the value to it.

‘But if a man eats a holy gift unintentionally, then he shall add to it a fifth of it and shall give the holy gift to the priest.

"Anyone who eats the sacred offerings without realizing it must pay the priest for the amount eaten, plus an added penalty of 20 percent.

"If anyone eats from a holy offering accidentally, he must give back the holy offering to the priest and add twenty percent to it.

And if a man takes the holy food in error, he will have to give the holy thing back to the priest, with the addition of a fifth part.

If a man eats of the sacred donation unintentionally, he shall add one-fifth of its value to it, and give the sacred donation to the priest.

‘And if a man eats the holy offering unintentionally, then he shall restore a holy offering to the priest, and add one–fifth to it.

“‘If a man eats a holy offering by mistake, ¹  he must add one fifth to it and give the holy offering to the priest. ² 

¹ tn Heb “And a man, if he eats a holy thing in error” (see the Lev 4:2 not on “straying,” which is the term rendered “by mistake” here).

² sn When a person trespassed in regard to something sacred to the Lord, reparation was to be made for the trespass, involving restitution of that which was violated plus one fifth of its value as a fine. It is possible that the restoration of the offering and the additional one fifth of its value were made as a monetary payment (see, e.g., B. A. Levine, Leviticus [JPSTC], 150).
