Joshua 23:12

But if you ever turn away and make alliances with ¹  these nations that remain near you, ²  and intermarry with them and establish friendly relations with them, ³ 

"But if you turn away and ally yourselves with the survivors of these nations that remain among you and if you intermarry with them and associate with them,

"For if you ever go back and cling to the rest of these nations, these which remain among you, and intermarry with them, so that you associate with them and they with you,

"But if you turn away from him and intermarry with the survivors of these nations remaining among you,

Because if you wander off and start taking up with these remaining nations still among you (intermarry, say, and have other dealings with them),

For if you go back, joining yourselves to the rest of these nations who are still among you, getting married to them and living with them and they with you:

For if you turn back, and join the survivors of these nations left here among you, and intermarry with them, so that you marry their women and they yours,

"Or else, if indeed you do go back, and cling to the remnant of these nations––these that remain among you––and make marriages with them, and go in to them and they to you,

But if you ever turn away and make alliances with ¹  these nations that remain near you, ²  and intermarry with them and establish friendly relations with them, ³ 

¹ tn Heb “and hug.”

² tn Heb “the remnant of the these nations, these nations that are with you.”

³ tn Heb “and go into them, and they into you.”
