John 6:14

Now when the people saw the miraculous sign that Jesus ¹  performed, they began to say to one another, “This is certainly the Prophet ²  who is to come into the world.” ³ 

After the people saw the miraculous sign that Jesus did, they began to say, "Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world."

Therefore when the people saw the sign which He had performed, they said, "This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world."

When the people saw this miraculous sign, they exclaimed, "Surely, he is the Prophet we have been expecting!"

The people realized that God was at work among them in what Jesus had just done. They said, "This is the Prophet for sure, God's Prophet right here in Galilee!"

And when the people saw the sign which he had done, they said, Truly, this is the prophet who is to come into the world.

When the people saw the sign that he had done, they began to say, "This is indeed the prophet who is to come into the world."

Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, "This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world."

Now when the people saw the miraculous sign that Jesus ¹  performed, they began to say to one another, “This is certainly the Prophet ²  who is to come into the world.” ³ 

¹ tn Grk “he”; the referent (Jesus) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

² sn The Prophet is a reference to the “prophet like Moses” of Deut 18:15, by this time an eschatological figure in popular belief.

³ sn An allusion to Deut 18:15.
