Jeremiah 7:19

But I am not really the one being troubled!” ¹  says the Lord. “Rather they are bringing trouble on themselves to their own shame! ² 

But am I the one they are provoking? declares the LORD. Are they not rather harming themselves, to their own shame?

"Do they spite Me?" declares the LORD. "Is it not themselves they spite, to their own shame?"

Am I the one they are hurting?" asks the LORD. "Most of all, they hurt themselves, to their own shame."

"But is it me they're hurting?" GOD's Decree! "Aren't they just hurting themselves? Exposing themselves shamefully? Making themselves ridiculous?

Are they moving me to wrath? says the Lord; are they not moving themselves to their shame?

Is it I whom they provoke? says the LORD. Is it not themselves, to their own hurt?

"Do they provoke Me to anger?" says the LORD. " Do they not provoke themselves, to the shame of their own faces?"
