Genesis 27:2

Isaac ¹  said, “Since ²  I am so old, I could die at any time. ³ 

Isaac said, "I am now an old man and don’t know the day of my death.

Isaac said, "Behold now, I am old and I do not know the day of my death.

"I am an old man now," Isaac said, "and I expect every day to be my last.

"I'm an old man," he said; "I might die any day now.

And he said, See now, I am old, and my death may take place at any time:

He said, "See, I am old; I do not know the day of my death.

Then he said, "Behold now, I am old. I do not know the day of my death.

Isaac ¹  said, “Since ²  I am so old, I could die at any time. ³ 

¹ tn Heb “he”; the referent (Isaac) is specified in the translation for clarity.

² tn The particle הִנֵּה (hinneh, “look”) here introduces a logically foundational statement, upon which the coming instruction will be based.

³ tn Heb “I do not know the day of my death.”
