a human face toward the palm tree on one side and a lion’s face toward the palm tree on the other side. They were carved on the whole temple all around;

One face––that of a man––looked toward the palm tree on one side. The other face––that of a young lion––looked toward the palm tree on the other side. The figures were carved all along the inside of the Temple,

So that there was the face of a man turned to the palm-tree on one side, and the face of a young lion on the other side: so it was made all round the house.
