Acts 22:6

As ¹  I was en route and near Damascus, ²  about noon a very bright ³  light from heaven ⁴  suddenly flashed ⁵  around me.

"About noon as I came near Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me.

"But it happened that as I was on my way, approaching Damascus about noontime, a very bright light suddenly flashed from heaven all around me,

"As I was on the road, nearing Damascus, about noon a very bright light from heaven suddenly shone around me.

"As I arrived on the outskirts of Damascus about noon, a blinding light blazed out of the skies

And it came about that while I was on my journey, coming near to Damascus, about the middle of the day, suddenly I saw a great light from heaven shining round me.

"While I was on my way and approaching Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly shone about me.

"Now it happened, as I journeyed and came near Damascus at about noon, suddenly a great light from heaven shone around me.

As ¹  I was en route and near Damascus, ²  about noon a very bright ³  light from heaven ⁴  suddenly flashed ⁵  around me.

¹ tn Grk “It happened that as.” The introductory phrase ἐγένετο (egeneto, “it happened that”), common in Luke (69 times) and Acts (54 times), is redundant in contemporary English and has not been translated.
