Acts 22:12

A man named Ananias, ¹  a devout man according to the law, ²  well spoken of by all the Jews who live there, ³ 

"A man named Ananias came to see me. He was a devout observer of the law and highly respected by all the Jews living there.

"A certain Ananias, a man who was devout by the standard of the Law, and well spoken of by all the Jews who lived there,

A man named Ananias lived there. He was a godly man in his devotion to the law, and he was well thought of by all the Jews of Damascus.

"And that's when I met Ananias, a man with a sterling reputation in observing our laws--the Jewish community in Damascus is unanimous on that score.

And one Ananias, a God-fearing man, who kept the law, and of whom all the Jews in that place had a high opinion,

"A certain Ananias, who was a devout man according to the law and well spoken of by all the Jews living there,

"Then a certain Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good testimony with all the Jews who dwelt there ,

A man named Ananias, ¹  a devout man according to the law, ²  well spoken of by all the Jews who live there, ³ 

¹ tn Grk “a certain Ananias.”

² sn The law refers to the law of Moses.

³ tn BDAG 534 s.v. κατοικέω 1.a translates this present participle “ὑπὸ πάντων τῶν (sc. ἐκεῖ) κατοικούντων ᾿Ιουδαίων by all the Jews who live there Ac 22:12.”
