1 Kings 8:18

The Lord told my father David, ‘It is right for you to have a strong desire to build a temple to honor me. ¹ 

But the LORD said to my father David, ‘Because it was in your heart to build a temple for my Name, you did well to have this in your heart.

"But the LORD said to my father David, ‘Because it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you did well that it was in your heart.

But the LORD told him, ‘It is right for you to want to build the Temple to honor my name,

But GOD told him 'It was good that you wanted to build a Temple in my honor--most commendable!

But the Lord said to David my father, You did well to have in your heart the desire to make a house for my name;

But the LORD said to my father David, ‘You did well to consider building a house for my name;

"But the LORD said to my father David, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a temple for My name, you did well that it was in your heart.

The Lord told my father David, ‘It is right for you to have a strong desire to build a temple to honor me. ¹ 

¹ tn Heb “Because it was with your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was with your heart.”
