1 Kings 22:27

Say, ‘This is what the king says, “Put this man in prison. Give him only a little bread and water ¹  until I safely return.”’” ² 

and say, ‘This is what the king says: Put this fellow in prison and give him nothing but bread and water until I return safely.’"

and say, ‘Thus says the king, "Put this man in prison and feed him sparingly with bread and water until I return safely."’"

Give them this order from the king: ‘Put this man in prison, and feed him nothing but bread and water until I return safely from the battle!’"

with this message, 'King's orders: Lock him up in jail; keep him on bread and water until I'm back in one piece.'"

And say, It is the king’s order that this man is to be put in prison and given prison food till I come again in peace.

and say, ‘Thus says the king: Put this fellow in prison, and feed him on reduced rations of bread and water until I come in peace.’"

"and say, ‘Thus says the king: "Put this fellow in prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and water of affliction, until I come in peace."’"

Say, ‘This is what the king says, “Put this man in prison. Give him only a little bread and water ¹  until I safely return.”’” ² 

¹ tn Heb “the bread of affliction and the water of affliction.”

² tn Heb “come in peace.” So also in v. 28.
