Matthew 9:12

When ¹  Jesus heard this he said, “Those who are healthy don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. ² 

On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.

But when Jesus heard this, He said, " It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.

When he heard this, Jesus replied, "Healthy people don’t need a doctor––sick people do."

Jesus, overhearing, shot back, "Who needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick?

But on hearing this he said, Those who are well have no need of a medical man, but those who are ill.

But when he heard this, he said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

When Jesus heard that , He said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

When ¹  Jesus heard this he said, “Those who are healthy don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. ²

² sn Jesus’ point is that he associates with those who are sick because they have the need and will respond to the offer of help. A person who is healthy (or who thinks mistakenly that he is) will not seek treatment.
