Luke 24:28

So they approached the village where they were going. He acted as though he wanted to go farther, ¹ 

As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus acted as if he were going further.

And they approached the village where they were going, and He acted as though He were going farther.

By this time they were nearing Emmaus and the end of their journey. Jesus would have gone on,

They came to the edge of the village where they were headed. He acted as if he were going on

And they came near the town to which they were going, and he seemed as if he was going on;

As they came near the village to which they were going, he walked ahead as if he were going on.

Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther.

So they approached the village where they were going. He acted as though he wanted to go farther, ¹ 

¹ sn He acted as though he wanted to go farther. This is written in a way that gives the impression Jesus knew they would ask him to stay.
