Job 32:21

I will not show partiality to anyone, ¹  nor will I confer a title ²  on any man.

I will show partiality to no-one, nor will I flatter any man;

"Let me now be partial to no one, Nor flatter any man.

I won’t play favorites or try to flatter anyone.

And I'm going to say it straight--the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Let me not give respect to any man, or give names of honour to any living.

I will not show partiality to any person or use flattery toward anyone.

Let me not, I pray, show partiality to anyone; Nor let me flatter any man.

¹ tn The idiom is “I will not lift up the face of a man.” Elihu is going to show no favoritism, but speak his mind.

² tn The verb means “to confer an honorary title; to give a mark of distinction,” but it is often translated with the verb “flatter.” Elihu will not take sides, he will not use pompous titles.
