Isaiah 42:7

to open blind eyes, ¹  to release prisoners ²  from dungeons, those who live in darkness from prisons.

to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.

To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the dungeon And those who dwell in darkness from the prison.

You will open the eyes of the blind and free the captives from prison. You will release those who sit in dark dungeons.

To make a start at bringing people into the open, into light: opening blind eyes, releasing prisoners from dungeons, emptying the dark prisons.

To give eyes to the blind, to make free the prisoners from the prison, to let out those who are shut up in the dark.

to open the eyes that are blind, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness.

To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison, Those who sit in darkness from the prison house.

to open blind eyes, ¹  to release prisoners ²  from dungeons, those who live in darkness from prisons.

¹ sn This does not refer to literal physical healing of the blind. As the next two lines suggest, this refers metonymically to freeing captives from their dark prisons where their eyes have grown unaccustomed to light.

² sn This does not refer to hardened, dangerous criminals, who would have been executed for their crimes in ancient Near Eastern society. This verse refers to political prisoners or victims of social injustice.
