Isaiah 21:16

For this is what the sovereign master ¹  has told me: “Within exactly one year ²  all the splendor of Kedar will come to an end.

This is what the Lord says to me: "Within one year, as a servant bound by contract would count it, all the pomp of Kedar will come to an end.

For thus the Lord said to me, "In a year, as a hired man would count it, all the splendor of Kedar will terminate;

"But within a year," says the Lord, "all the glory of Kedar will come to an end.

The Master told me, "Hang on. Within one year--I'll sign a contract on it!--the arrogant brutality of Kedar, those hooligans of the desert, will be over,

For so has the Lord said to me, In a year, by the years of a servant working for payment, all the glory of Kedar will come to an end:

For thus the Lord said to me: Within a year, according to the years of a hired worker, all the glory of Kedar will come to an end;

For thus the Lord has said to me: "Within a year, according to the year of a hired man, all the glory of Kedar will fail;

For this is what the sovereign master ¹  has told me: “Within exactly one year ²  all the splendor of Kedar will come to an end.

¹ tn The Hebrew term translated “sovereign master” here is אֲדֹנָי (’adonay).
