Psalms 78:50

He sent his anger in full force; ¹  he did not spare them from death; he handed their lives over to destruction. ² 

He prepared a path for his anger; he did not spare them from death but gave them over to the plague.

He leveled a path for His anger; He did not spare their soul from death, But gave over their life to the plague,

He turned his anger against them; he did not spare the Egyptians’ lives but handed them over to the plague.

to clear the ground, preparing the way before him. He didn't spare those people, he let the plague rage through their lives.

He let his wrath have its way; he did not keep back their soul from death, but gave their life to disease.

He made a path for his anger; he did not spare them from death, but gave their lives over to the plague.

¹ tn Heb “he leveled a path for his anger.” There were no obstacles to impede its progress; it moved swiftly and destructively.
