Psalms 31:1

For the music director; a psalm of David. In you, O Lord, I have taken shelter! Never let me be humiliated! Vindicate me by rescuing me! ² 

For the director of music. A psalm of David. In you, O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness.

<<For the choir director. A Psalm of David.>> In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; Let me never be ashamed; In Your righteousness deliver me.

<<For the choir director: A psalm of David.>> O LORD, I have come to you for protection; don’t let me be put to shame. Rescue me, for you always do what is right.

I run to you, GOD; I run for dear life. Don't let me down! Take me seriously this time!

<To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.> In you, O Lord, have I put my hope; let me never be shamed; keep me safe in your righteousness.

In you, O LORD, I seek refuge; do not let me ever be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me.

<<To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.>> In You, O LORD, I put my trust; Let me never be ashamed; Deliver me in Your righteousness.

For the music director; a psalm of David. In you, O Lord, I have taken shelter! Never let me be humiliated! Vindicate me by rescuing me! ² 

¹ sn Psalm 31. The psalmist confidently asks the Lord to protect him. Enemies threaten him and even his friends have abandoned him, but he looks to the Lord for vindication. In vv. 19-24, which were apparently written after the Lord answered the prayer of vv. 1-18, the psalmist thanks the Lord for delivering him.
